Character: Auberginia Solana, goes by Ginia
Species: Avizon

Status: Former barmaid

Character Notes: While plastic surgery and skin grafts have fixed the majority of the scars covering her upper arms, back, and neck, Ginia wears long-sleeved shirts and scarves (or clothing with high-collars) throughout the year and does not like to be touched, especially in those areas.

In her human form, she stands at 5’6” and has wavy black hair, light blue eyes, pale skin, and a willowy frame.

In her Avizon form, a form she rarely changes into due to the prominence of her scars and the many dangers associated with being an Avizon, she stands at almost 6 feet tall. Her skin is a thick hide with her coloring being a deep purple (similar to that of an eggplant). Her face is quite equine in structure with a mane of black, though the rest of her figure takes on a more draconic appearance. From her back springs a pair of draconic wings with trails of white running along the ridges and through the membrane, a result of the scarring on her back. Black claws protrude from her toes and claws. Her tail is unmarked. Her eyes remain light blue.

While she can eat food, most of it tastes bland to her and she eats whatever has an enjoyable texture. She survives off of emotions, usually attending clubs and feeding off of groups of people.

In the rare occasion she’s in her Avizon form and happy, she’ll wag her tail and wiggle her ears.

Character's history: One of the very few Avizon families residing in Ametiton, the Solana family owned a nice upscale bar. For them, the bar was a way of getting the energy they needed to survive and did quite well.

While the bar was open to everyone and anyone, it became a popular place for slavers and slave-catchers. While the Solana family was against the slave trade, unable (and almost unwilling) to turn down their business, they accepted the slavers and slave-catchers, even passing messages along and sharing information with them about escaped slaves or other dealings when requested. As a result, the family gained the reputation of being pro-slavery and became very disliked by much of the anti-slavery community.

When the rebellions began, the Solana family was rounded up and badly beaten while their bar was set on fire, the five of them locked inside to die. While Ginia and her older brother were the only two to escape, her brother survived only long enough to get Ginia to a hospital and to pay for her bills before passing away.

Now, Ginia lives only to rebuild and run her family’s bar and restore their name and keep their memory living.

Character's personality: Surrounded by a living family comprised of her parents and her older brother and sister and raised in the bar environment around questionable people, Ginia grew up learning to never judge people by first appearances and to give everyone a chance, though at the same time, to never let anyone walk all over her. She’s a kind-hearted woman, but won’t take nonsense from anyone and will not hesitate to defend herself or someone else, either through words or fighting.
She also has a mischievous streak, learned from her older brother and sister, and sometimes toys around with people or teases them. She can also be amazingly short-tempered at times.

Mute from birth, she’s adapted by communicating through sign and written word, as well as through the use of body language and pantomime. Very observant, she’s very good at picking out whether people or lying or hiding things. At the same time, she’s very good at hiding her emotions and lying. If she does not want anyone to know how she’s feeling, it’s very likely no one will find out.

Additional notes:

Given all the “misfortunes” in her life, Ginia is very resentful to anyone who tries to pity her and very reluctant to accept help or “charity” of any form. She prefers to earn things for herself and will work herself to the point of exhaustion to reach a goal.

Due to never meeting any other Avizon save her own family, she becomes very excited and almost giddy when meeting other Avizon. She also has a minor fear/bias towards Lupino and humans and has a harder time opening up to them.

Ginia is an accomplished bartender, leaning towards the flair style of bartending. She’s a talented juggler and despite being able to speak, uses body language, sign, and pantomime to tell stories and jokes and entertain her audience.
